January 9 2020   BOOK CLUB launches at the Ames Public Library, upstairs boardroom for a Lunch & Learn. The book is 5000 Year Leap.  Free study guide for you to use. Click here: Study Guide. This is an easy read, and prepares us for in depth reading about America’s foundations. Light lunch provided. Bring your own beverages and the study guide/notebook. (I will not have extra copies at the lunch.) Books on amazon. (No First Thursday Coffee in January due to New Years Day)
 
January 28, 2020  What are Planned Parenthood’s goals? What can Iowans do about the devaluing of human life? Truth Talk. Ames Public Library, Farwell T Brown Auditorium. Pro-life discussion  from Storm Lake Iowa Whistleblower, Sue Thayer and Senior Litigation Counsel at the Thomas More Society, Martin Cannon. No fee. Donations to “40 Days for Life” encouraged. Doors open 6:00 pm, program begins at 6:30 pm. Question/answer following presentations. Moderated by RWCI.
 

First Thursday Coffee & Conversation

Feb 6. Special Guest Story County Auditor Lucy Martin. (30 minute program of questions & answers). Coffee is 9:30-11:30. Suggested questions:

  1. What was voter turnout for the combined city/school board elections?
  2. The following was on my ballot. Please explain.   (1) Your absentee request form MUST include an ID number — either your Iowa driver’s license (or non-operator ID) number, or the 4-digit PIN on the new voter ID card. This requirement is temporarily suspended. 
  3. How are names listed on ballots? Alphabetical? Random?
  4. Please explain was an undervote is.
  5. How long does it take and how is a ballot “counted” when there is question of legal residence?
 
3rd Annual Lincoln Highway Dinner, March 28, 2020

Gateway Convention Center, Ames. Former Acting United States Attorney General Matt Whitaker keynote speaker. Friends from Tama, Marshall, Story, Boone, & Green County Republicans join annually with Iowa State & DMACC College Republicans & the Republican Women of Central Iowa clubs to share a wonderful meal in a beautiful venue and celebrate conservatism, doors open 5 pm.

Legislative Update May 14, 2020. Farwell T. Brown Auditorium, Ames Public Library. Invited elected officials share updates regarding the 2019-2020 Legislative Session. Moderated by RWCI. Doors open 6:00 pm.  

This was a GREAT event! October 24  RWCI Annual Fall Meeting featuring Women for Trump Team’s Tana Goertz  sharing excitement for the 2020 election. Also on board RWCI’s Kay presents Caucus A,B,C’s.

November 3, (Sunday) Our Education into socialism begins ANOTHER informative event!  How did socialism become acceptable in America? 

DID YOU MISS THIS? It was delicious and relaxing!  November 12  Soup Supper followed by a fun program with Iowa author, Lyn VandeBrake sharing from her new book “The Escape Place“. How do women create personal spaces in our busy lives? Books available for purchase at event. (RWCI’s president is featured in one chapter.) Bring friends and a dessert to share. Story City, Bertha Bartlett Public Library meeting room (17 miles north of Ames).
